Where to Buy Real Christmas Trees in Cambridgeshire: Farms, Pick Your Own, Garden Centres and Delivery for 2026

Twelve places to buy a real Christmas tree across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in 2026, covering farm yards, garden centres and delivery, with opening dates where published and how to recycle the tree in January.

A real tree is still the centre of Christmas in a lot of Cambridgeshire homes, and the county has more places selling them than most people realise. Some grow their own on farmland around Barton, Ramsey and Wisbech, some bring in Nordmann firs grown in Scotland or Denmark, and at least one Fen farm lets you walk the rows and choose your tree where it stands.

We checked every seller below in early November 2026. Where a seller has published its 2026 opening date, we give it. Prices quoted are the latest the seller has published, and we say when they are from last year.

Details were accurate when we checked them on 5 November 2026. Opening dates, prices and stock change quickly in the run-up to Christmas, so please check each seller’s website or social media before you travel.

Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire

The south of the county has the biggest choice, with farm yards just off the M11 and the A10 and two large garden centres within a short drive of the city. Most of these sellers also deliver into Cambridge, which saves wrestling a seven foot fir onto a hatchback.

Burwash Christmas Trees, Barton

Outdoor activity

  • A farm yard tree sale at Burwash Manor in Barton, about three miles west of Cambridge city centre and close to Junction 12 of the M11
  • Trees arrive for the 2026 season from Friday 20 November, and the yard is open from 8am to 6pm with no booking needed
  • Seven species are sold: Norway spruce, blue spruce, Nordmann fir, Fraser fir, Korean fir, noble fir and lodgepole pine
  • Heights run between 3ft and 18ft, though not every species comes in every size
  • Most of the trees are UK grown, many of them on the organic farm around Barton, and some are hand picked from the plantation
  • Pot-grown Korean fir, Nordmann fir and Norway spruce are available, so you can plant one out in the garden after Christmas
  • The netting used is biodegradable, and you can bring your tree back after Christmas to be chipped and composted
  • Delivery around Cambridge is run from the same farm by the Cambridge Christmas Tree Company, which sells premium and standard grade Nordmann firs online, delivers from late November and takes cash or cheque on delivery
  • Parking is free, and Burwash Manor’s independent shops, café and the Larder food shop are a few steps away

Address: Burwash Manor, New Road, Barton, Cambridge CB23 7EY

Website: burwashchristmastrees.co.uk (delivery: cambridgechristmastrees.co.uk)

Phone: 07774 186486 (tree yard); 01223 260040 (delivery)

How to book: No booking needed at the yard; order delivery online through the Cambridge Christmas Tree Company

Burwash has the widest spread of species we found anywhere in the county, which matters if you want something other than a Nordmann. The Korean fir is a compact, slow-growing tree that suits a small room, and the noble fir has the stiff, layered branches that hold heavy glass baubles well. Because many of the trees are grown on the farm itself, they have only a short trip to the yard. December weekends are the busiest time at any tree yard, so a weekday morning visit is calmer. The farm and its shops make it easy to turn the job into a morning out, with coffee in the café while someone else ties the tree onto the roof.

Rectory Farm, Milton

Outdoor activity

  • A farm shop and tree yard on the A10 Milton bypass, north of Cambridge, which also runs a Christmas barn selling decorations, wreaths and gifts
  • Nordmann firs are sold in three grades, premium, standard and budget, across a range of sizes
  • Smaller pot-grown Norway spruce of around 3ft to 5ft are available for people who want a rooted tree
  • Very large trees for offices, churches and halls are arranged by phone, ideally from September
  • Online tree orders open on 21 November and can be delivered to Cambridge and a long list of nearby villages, including Histon, Cottenham, Waterbeach, Bottisham, Burwell and Stretham
  • The tree yard and Christmas barn are closed on Mondays, and the barn runs until 23 December
  • The farm collects trees in January in return for a small donation to Arthur Rank Hospice

Address: Rectory Farm, A10 Milton bypass, Milton, Cambridge CB24 6AE

Website: rectoryfarmshop.co.uk

Phone: 01223 860374

How to book: Walk in, or order online for delivery; phone for prices and large trees

Rectory Farm is the easy choice for anyone in north Cambridge or the villages up the A10, as it sits right on the road with its own car park. The three grades are a useful touch, and the budget grade is worth a look if the tree is going into a corner where only one side will show. The farm also takes orders for free-range bronze turkeys, so it is possible to sort the tree and the Christmas dinner in one stop. Ring ahead for prices, as they are not posted online.

Christmastrees4U, Longstanton

Outdoor activity

  • A specialist Christmas tree seller based at Lyndhurst Nursery on Station Road in Longstanton, north west of Cambridge
  • The yard opens in late November
  • November opening hours are 9am to 3:30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4:30pm on Sunday
  • December opening hours are 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4:30pm on Sunday
  • Low needle drop Nordmann fir, traditional Norway spruce and pot-grown trees are all stocked
  • Fresh holly wreaths and Christmas tree stands are sold alongside the trees
  • Telephone orders are welcome, which helps if you want a particular size held for you
  • Prices are not published online, so phone the seller for current costs

Address: Lyndhurst Nursery, Station Road, Longstanton, Cambridge CB24 3DS

Website: christmastrees4u.co.uk

Phone: 07973 197885

How to book: Walk in, or phone ahead to order

Longstanton sits on the edge of Northstowe, and this nursery is the nearest specialist seller for the new town, Swavesey and the villages along the Guided Busway. It is a straightforward, no-frills operation: trees in a yard, someone to help you pick, and a holly wreath for the front door if you want one. The early closing time in November is worth noting if you plan to call in after work. Norway spruce has the classic Christmas smell but drops needles faster in a warm room, so it is best bought nearer the day.

Bury Lane Farm Shop, Melbourn

Indoor and outdoor

  • A large family-run farm shop on the A10 Melbourn bypass, close to the Hertfordshire border near Royston
  • Freshly cut and pot-grown real trees are sold alongside the Christmas shops
  • Christmas week hours run late on Wednesday 23 December, until 8pm, and finish at 4pm on Christmas Eve; the shop is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
  • Opening hours are 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday
  • The food hall, butcher and fishmonger, deli and bakery, café and the Fun Barn soft play are all on site

Address: Bury Lane Farm Shop, A10 By Pass, Melbourn, Royston SG8 6GT

Website: burylane.co.uk

Phone: 01763 260418

How to book: Walk in during opening hours

Bury Lane is the farm shop most people in the far south of the county use for Christmas, and the trees are only one part of it. The postcode is a Hertfordshire one, but the shop sits in Melbourn parish in South Cambridgeshire. Leave time for the food hall if you are also collecting a Christmas order, and ring ahead if you want a particular size or species.

Scotsdales Garden Centre, Great Shelford

Indoor and outdoor

  • A garden centre on Cambridge Road in Great Shelford, a few miles south of Cambridge
  • Both freshly cut and pot-grown real trees are sold, in heights between 2ft and 8ft, including Needlefresh Nordmann and Fraser firs and pot-grown Nordmann and Norway spruce
  • The trees come with the garden centre’s plant guarantee, so they should last until Christmas is over if you look after them
  • Real trees are sold in store and through the garden centre’s local delivery and click and collect services
  • Tree stands are sold separately, and the garden centre will advise on the right stand for the size of tree
  • Scotsdales has a second site at Horningsea, and the Christmas shop and café run alongside the tree sales

Address: Scotsdales Garden Centre, Cambridge Road, Great Shelford, Cambridge CB22 5JT

Website: scotsdalegardencentre.co.uk

Phone: 01223 842777

How to book: In store, or online for local delivery and click and collect

Scotsdales is a good choice if you want a smaller, well-shaped tree and the reassurance of a guarantee. The 8ft ceiling on sizes means it is not the place for a vaulted hallway, but it covers most homes in Cambridge and the Shelfords. The garden centre hosted the Garden Centre Association’s East area awards in July 2026, and the Christmas displays are one of its busiest times of year. Use the tree delivery if you are coming by car with a full boot.

Huntingdonshire and the Great Ouse Valley

Huntingdonshire’s tree sellers are long-running family yards on the Fen edge around Warboys and Ramsey, plus one big garden centre at Brampton.

Warboys Christmas Tree Centre

Outdoor activity

  • A long-running family business at Tythe Farm on Church Road, just outside Warboys, and one of the larger specialist tree sellers in Cambridgeshire
  • The centre opens for the 2026 season on Saturday 28 November, and is then open seven days a week from 9am to 6pm
  • Norway spruce and Nordmann fir are sold between 4ft and 10ft, with pot-grown trees for planting out afterwards
  • Norway spruce, Nordmann fir, blue spruce and lodgepole pine have all been sold here, and the farm puts its current price list on its website
  • Weekday delivery costs £5 to Warboys and postcodes including PE16, PE26, PE27 and PE29, and £10 to a wider ring of postcodes, with limited slots
  • Handmade holly wreaths, tree stands and fresh-cut English mistletoe are sold alongside the trees
  • It sits within easy reach of Huntingdon, St Ives, Ramsey and Chatteris

Address: Warboys Christmas Tree Centre, Tythe Farm, Church Road, Warboys PE28 2RJ

Website: warboyschristmastreecentre.com

How to book: Walk in from 28 November; arrange delivery through the website’s contact page

Warboys is the sensible first stop for anyone in St Ives, Huntingdon or Chatteris, and last year’s price list gives a good idea of what to budget. Few sellers in the county are this open about what a tree costs. The weekday-only delivery is the one catch, so if you work full time you may need to collect. Fresh-cut mistletoe is harder to find than you would think, so pick some up while you are there.

Ramsey Xmas Trees, Ramsey St Mary’s

Outdoor activity

  • A farm at Mill View Farm on Holme Road in Ramsey St Mary’s, out on the Fen edge between Ramsey and Whittlesey
  • You choose your own Nordmann fir on the farm, and staff net it and help carry it to the car
  • Sizes run from extra small up to large, with some bigger trees available
  • Trees go on sale from the end of November
  • The farm sold out by 14 December in 2025, so going early in the season is the safest plan
  • You can phone ahead to reserve a tree and arrange a time to collect it
  • The farm is about a twenty minute drive from Peterborough city centre
  • Prices are not published online, so ask when you call

Address: Mill View Farm, Holme Road, Ramsey St Mary’s, Huntingdon PE26 2ST

Website: ramsey-xmas-trees.co.uk

Phone: 01733 844244

How to book: Phone to reserve, or turn up once the farm opens

This is a small farm operation rather than a shop, which is exactly the appeal. The roads out here run straight across black Fen soil, and the farm is the kind of place you only find because someone told you about it. The website is old and has not been updated for some years, but the farm’s Facebook page was active through the 2025 season and is the best place to watch for this year’s opening. Bring gloves and wellies, as the yard can be muddy after rain in December.

Notcutts Garden Centre, Brampton

Indoor and outdoor

  • A large garden centre on Buckden Road in Brampton, just south west of Huntingdon and close to the A1 and A14
  • Notcutts says its real trees are now in its garden centres
  • Nordmann fir is the main tree, sold both cut and pot-grown, with Fraser fir in selected stores
  • Staff net the tree, bag it if you ask, and carry it to your car
  • Home delivery is available, with local delivery charges on top
  • Opening hours are 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday
  • The restaurant serves a festive afternoon tea from 18 November
  • The Notcutts garden centre on Oundle Road at Orton Waterville in Peterborough also sells real trees

Address: Notcutts Brampton, Buckden Road, Brampton, Huntingdon PE28 4NF

Website: notcutts.co.uk

Phone: 01480 453048

How to book: In store; ask in store about delivery

Notcutts is the predictable option, with the trees laid out in one place and staff on hand to help. It is likely to cost more than a farm yard, but the carry-to-car service matters if you are on your own. Weekday mornings are the quietest time to choose a tree.

The Fens and Peterborough

The north of the county has a home-grown Fen supplier near Wisbech, a farm and a pop-up yard on the Peterborough side, and a big garden centre at Hampton.

Fenland Trees, Wisbech

Outdoor activity

  • A family-run grower near Wisbech, trading under the name Fred Bassett before it became Fenland Trees
  • Retail trees are sold from the family’s field on Halfpenny Lane, Wisbech
  • The grower has around 20,000 trees in the ground and has been selling real trees for about ten years
  • Norway spruce is the main crop, and handmade holly wreaths and wreath-making materials are sold too
  • In 2025 sales began on Saturday 22 November and ran seven days a week
  • Opening hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 9:30am to 4pm on Sunday
  • Budget Norway spruce costs £10 a tree for orders of 20 or more, which suits schools, clubs and businesses

Address: Halfpenny Lane, Wisbech (office: 2 Victoria Road, Wisbech PE13 2QL)

Website: fenlandtrees.co.uk

Phone: 07979 393418

How to book: Walk in once sales open; phone or email for bulk orders

Wisbech is the far corner of the county and this is its home-grown option, sold from the field where the trees grow. The bulk offer is worth passing on to your child’s school or the village hall committee, as £10 a tree is well under any retail price we found. Wreaths are made on site from November, and you can buy the greenery and frames if you would rather make your own. Watch the Facebook page, where last year’s opening date was posted at the start of November.

Nunton Lodge Farm, Maxey

Outdoor activity

  • A family-run farm between Maxey and Helpston, north west of Peterborough, which has been selling Christmas trees since 2008
  • Trees, tree stands, wreaths, table centres and garlands can be ordered through the farm’s online shop
  • In the online shop, premium Nordmann firs start at £40, premium Fraser firs at £50 and potted Fraser firs at £40
  • Tree stands, including Cinco and Krinner models, are sold alongside the trees, and orders can also be placed by phone

Address: Nunton Lodge Farm, Helpston Road, Maxey, Peterborough PE6 9HG

Website: nuntonchristmastrees.co.uk

Phone: 07921 777239

How to book: Online through the farm’s shop, or call the farm

Nunton Lodge suits people in north Peterborough, Market Deeping and Stamford who would rather buy local than drive to a retail park. The online shop is the main way in, with prices listed up front, and you can phone the farm if you want a particular size held. It has been selling trees since 2008, so plenty of families round here have been going back for years.

Manor Christmas Trees at The Haycock, Wansford

Outdoor activity

  • A pop-up tree sale under a marquee at The Haycock hotel in Wansford, just off the A1 west of Peterborough
  • The marquee opens for 2026 on Friday 27 November, and online orders are already being taken
  • Prices start at £35 for a Classic Nordmann, £45 for a Premium Nordmann or Premium Norway spruce, £50 for a pot-grown spruce with roots and £65 for a Premium Fraser fir
  • Delivery covers Peterborough, Stamford and the surrounding villages, from £5 depending on where you live
  • Delivered trees are given a fresh cut at the base and kept in water until they go out
  • You choose a delivery date when ordering and get an arrival time and tracking link on the day
  • Trees are sourced from growers in the UK and Denmark
  • The Haycock serves food and drink on site, so you can stop for lunch while you choose

Address: The Haycock, London Road, Wansford, Peterborough PE8 6JA

Website: manorchristmastrees.co.uk

How to book: Online for delivery, or visit the marquee from 27 November

The Haycock is an old coaching inn on the former Great North Road, and a tree marquee in its grounds is a very Wansford way to start Christmas. The Classic range is the cheaper choice, with trees that have a bit more character in their shape. The delivery tracking is a genuine help in a month when nobody wants to wait in all day. Pair the trip with the Nene Valley Railway at Wansford station, a short drive away, if you have children with you.

Dobbies Garden Centre, Peterborough

Indoor and outdoor

  • A large garden centre on Phorpres Way in Hampton, on the southern edge of Peterborough near the A15 and A1(M)
  • Dobbies’ real trees are grown by Needlefresh in Scotland, which plants at least one new tree for every one it cuts
  • Prices start from £24.99, and the premium Nordmann firs go up to about 7ft
  • Freshly cut and pot-grown trees are sold, with Nordmann fir, Fraser fir and blue spruce in the range
  • A slim Nordmann is grown for small rooms and narrow hallways
  • In 2025 the Peterborough store gave away more than 220 real trees to schools and nurseries within 20 miles

Address: Dobbies Peterborough, Phorpres Way, Hampton, Peterborough

Website: dobbies.com

How to book: In store

Dobbies is the easy option for Hampton, Stanground and the south of the city, with a large car park and everything under one roof. The trees are grown in the Highlands rather than locally, but the grower’s replanting promise answers most of the guilt about buying a cut tree. The community tree giveaway usually opens in the autumn, so schools and nurseries should keep an eye out next year.

Seasonal Highlights

Spring: Pot-grown trees bought at Christmas can be planted out in March once the ground has softened, or potted on into a bigger container to come back indoors next December.

Summer: Burwash Manor’s shops and café are open all year if you want to see the farm before tree season.

Autumn: Rectory Farm takes turkey orders from the start of November, and the first tree sellers open in late November, with Burwash on 20 November, Manor Christmas Trees on 27 November and Warboys on 28 November 2026.

Winter: Rectory Farm’s Christmas barn runs until 23 December, and in January the hospice tree collections run, with Sue Ryder collecting across Peterborough from 6 to 15 January 2027.

A Note From Inside Cambridge

We put this guide together because buying a tree is one of those jobs everyone does once a year and nobody remembers how they did it last time. Twelve sellers is a good spread, but there are plenty of village hall sales, Scout fundraisers and pop-up yards we will add as they announce dates.

If you sell trees in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough and we have missed you, or a date has changed since we checked, please tell us. We would much rather update a line than send someone to an empty yard on a Saturday morning.

Before You Go

  • Measure the height of your ceiling and take off the height of your stand and the star or angel before you choose, as trees always look smaller outdoors
  • Ask for a fresh cut at the base when you buy, then stand the tree in water outside until you bring it in
  • Nordmann fir holds its needles best in a warm house; Norway spruce smells more like Christmas but drops faster, so buy it nearer the day
  • Most sellers open in late November, and some sell out by mid December, as Ramsey Xmas Trees did on 14 December 2025, so do not leave it too late
  • Bring gloves, an old blanket for the car and roof straps if you are collecting; most yards will net the tree for you
  • Arthur Rank Hospice volunteers collect trees across Cambridge and nearby postcodes in January for a donation, and Rectory Farm and Burwash both point customers to the scheme; register on the hospice’s website
  • Sue Ryder collects trees in Peterborough postcodes PE1 to PE9 and PE26 from 6 to 15 January 2027 for a donation; register by midnight on 6 January on sueryder.org
  • Cambridge City Council says a tree can go in the green bin if it is cut up small enough for the lid to close, or you can take it to a household recycling centre
  • Peterborough residents with a garden waste subscription can cut the tree up and put it in the brown bin, or take it to the Dodson House recycling centre at Fengate
